Sarah Reich has emerged as one of the new leaders in the Art Form of Tap Dance. At the young age of 15, this Los Angeles native was featured in Dance Spirit Magazine’s article, “20 Hot Tappers Under 20” and was named one of the “25 To Watch” in the 2009 Dance Magazine article. Ever since, Sarah has been sought after to perform, choreograph, and teach in over 35 countries.

Sarah has toured with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox and with her own band, Tap Music Project, she premiered their full-length show at The Vancouver International Tap Dance Festival and the band has performed throughout Los Angeles at such venues as the Ford Amphitheatre, UCLA’s JazzReggae Festival, The Edison, Blue Whale, and the LA County Holiday Celebration. Sarah was also seen on Season 11 of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance with Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies and was a performer at Madison Square Garden for the opening of the NY Knicks 2013-2014 season.

In addition to her vast international travels and countless television appearances, Sarah has had the honor to perform at prestigious venues such as The Hollywood Bowl, the Greek Theater with Mexican Pop-Star, Cristian Castro and the Kodak Theater with the great Herbie Hancock.

Daniel Borak

Daniel Borak

Daniel “Dani” Borak, world-renowned, international Tap and multi-genre performer, choreographer and teacher, joins the Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) as its first three-year Artist In Residence, using his many skills throughout CHRP’s variety of programs. Passionate about experimenting and collaborating with a broad spectrum of performing and visual artists, this extraordinarily talented artist has already expanded the concept of traditional Tap dancing, creating his own unique blended vocabulary pointing toward the future of percussive dance and rhythmic expression.

A native of Switzerland (Winterthur), Dani has performed as a soloist around the world and has won 11 gold medals in many different categories (six in solo male) at the IDO Tap dance world championships in Riesa, Germany. In 2013, he served as co-choreographer and dance captain for productions of Spamalot and Flashdance.

In 2014, he collaborated on the creation of Funny Feet (by Lukas Weiss Productions) a show that fused Tap dance, juggling, virtuosic foot percussion and humor. Other shows featuring his performances in 2014–15 included WINGS by Rigolo and, thanks to Regine Ochsner, Rhythm Refix by Cartier Williams. In 2015, he faced the greatest challenge of his career, performing in Kilian Deissler’s Kick The Square: tapping by using notes in an extremely complex way, with six other musicians, using a notation system specifically created for the project.

His most ambitious project to date has been Tap Dan’s Festival in October 2016 in his hometown of Winterthur, Switzerland. Seven different performances showcased his work and new collaborations, including several of his full-evening works as well as material from his six years as a freelance artist. Almost all of his Tap and musician colleagues from Switzerland, as well as guests from the U.S., England, France and Germany, including Barbara Duffy, Cartier Williams, Max Pollak, Victor Cuno, and Andreas Dänel, participated and collaborated with him, selling out six of the seven shows.

Guillem Alonso

Guillem Alonso

Receiving various grants from the Catalan government (Spain) he studied Tap dance in New York, where he was taught by famous dancers such as Brenda Bufalino, Barbara Duffy, Savion Glover and others.

In 1993 he won 1st prize at the World Tap Championship in Switzerland organized by the International Dance Organization. During Christmas 1995 Guillem appeared as Tap soloist for the show Yuletide Celebration, accompanied by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Afterwars on he toured across the USA and Europe with several of the best American Tap companies, the American Tap Dance Orchestra, Manhattan Tap, Tap Collective from New York and Steps Ahead from Los Angeles.

Guillem lives in Barcelona where he performed and created numerous works including choreography for the show That’s Jazz, created for the opening of the new theatre Scenic Barcelona, has choreographed Tap numbers in the last production of the musical Fame in Madrid, and also for the Monty Payton’s Spamalot.

At home, Guillem has started tap improvisation sessions, Tap Jam, since 1998, and never stopped since then. During the seasons 2000-02 he was Tap soloist in the successful production of Fire of Dance, touring all around Europe. He choreographed Tap solos and duets, one of those being the captivating Sand dance. This is a style of dance that he has performed with many companies and is one of his trademarks.

Guillem is a member of Camut Band Tap and percussion company, where he is one of the creators of their shows Kiting-Kita, Sonoritats and Life Is Rhythm, in which he continues to perform. It has enjoyed success in dance festivals in Edinburgh (Scotland), Toronto (Canada), New Haven (USA), Greenwich (Great Britain) and Tàrrega (Spain). This show was on Broadway (NY) performing at the New Victory Theatre and on the West End (London) at the Lyric Theatre.

He is one of the creators and performers of the new shows Boogie Woogie Tap and Tap Olé.

As a leading member of the Tap community Guillem has introduced and motivated a new generation of Tap dancers in Barcelona. He has got the Dansacat 2010 award for the recognition to his work as a dance artist from Catalonia.
Now, he is directing his own dance school Luthier, with lots of Tap workshops and a special training program for professional Tap dancers coming from around the world.

Samuel Rigal

Samuel Rigal

Samuel Rigal, a Cuban living in Seville, is a teacher and dancer of Tap in Seville. He is one of the promoters of this dance in Andalusia and has given workshops, courses throughout the provinces of Andalusia, as well as participated in shows of Tap Dance.

He began to dance in Havana, combining his studies with Civil Engineering and crossed the Atlantic with destination in France and Italy to finally arrive in Southern Europe.
In addition, he is a dancer of Lindy Hop, a discipline that transmits his method of teaching in the field of Tap to the beats of Swing.
